The familiars of rest, who had been beside themselves with excitement at the prospect of welcoming a newcomer for the first time in ages, stared stupidly into empty space like dogs who had just watched the chicken they were chasing fly away.
Just as the young man’s soul was about to be embraced by rest, a pale shape had abruptly appeared and stolen his soul away to somewhere else!

Belinda’s soul emitted a dumbfounded thought.
Though its form had been somewhat simpler and distorted compared to the real thing, the tiny shape glowing white had unmistakably taken the appearance of a baby goat.
And even after the little goat vanished somewhere, the faint light it had produced did not disappear completely.
