Stillness seeps into the air.
A lake rippling softly.
The scent of grass brushing the tip of my nose.
A warmth one could easily mistake for sunlight, and even an unknown breeze that keeps tickling my hair.
Nothing particularly special—things that, if anything, are as ordinary as can be.
And even a single ordinary tree, no different from the other trees I was handling.
Amid all this ordinariness, I had to knit my brows at the special person who appeared before me.
‘What is this?’
What am I looking at right now.
Thump—!
As if my body had ceased to function, it felt like my blood slowed markedly. That was surely because of the person before me.
Our gazes met.
Amaranth-colored eyes that looked like an aurora transplanted whole from the night sky.
Spilled white hair and skin as white to match, and on top of that the gentle voice that called to me.
By the time I slowly filed each detail into my head, my frozen body began to respond.
‘How?’
How is she standing in front of me?
Did she follow me?
That was possible. A being called the Master was immeasurable; perhaps even appearing like this was possible.
‘…Just now.’
The words she had just spoken contained something that, more than triggering wariness, instinctively soothed my mind.
‘My son.’
The Master’s words. How could I fail to understand them?
“…Mother?”
