Yoo Seongwoon continued his explanation with a smile.
“Roughly ten years after the Great Calamity first broke out? Korea was closer to complete chaos than a single country. Just as most lands beyond Korea are lawless regions and remote wilderness today.”
He shrugged.
“Simply understand that it was an era overflowing with all manner of… hmm, incomprehensible and irrational crimes. I’m saying there may have been no meaning whatsoever behind what happened to me.”
“Understood.”
“Now, to explain, I don’t remember much about my earliest childhood. More precisely, it would be accurate to say there is almost nothing to describe. I was always confined somewhere. It was a very dark place.”
“Were you abducted?”
“Probably. Surely my own family wouldn’t have done it. No, of course, yes. I know the possibility is not entirely nonexistent. That was the kind of era it was.”
It was a world in chaos.
“No, well. That’s what I think.”
Truthfully, Yoo Seongwoon did not know either.
“Before joining the Association, I once had my physical age calculated. I was probably around two when the Great Calamity began. I don’t know exactly when I was confined… but even a two-year-old can use some language and has a certain degree of cognitive ability, doesn’t one?”
“Yes. They are also active at that age.”
