Giovanni had been born beneath sunlight even within a dark, windowless room. During the cold winter, he grew beneath warm rays on a bed positioned where sunlight could never reach. Even as an infant whose reason had yet to form, he performed miracles great and small as though it were only natural.
A son sent by the Sun. Healing power filled with sunlight. Words and gazes that brought warmth even in winter. Seeing these things, people made Giovanni their god, their Apostle, and their hero.
