“Carpeios.”
A low call cut short the demon’s rambling at once, making him tense. What followed was as grave a topic as the voice that spoke it.
“The ‘Holy Scythe’ is gone.”
“…!”
All over Carpeios’s body, demonic energy flared. This time, his anger was nothing like the fury he’d shown at the snapped dark purple Sa-in Flower. It ran deeper, more subdued, and sinister.
“Someone dared to infiltrate Sanarak’s treasure vault and steal a king’s treasure…a weapon engraved by Your Chaos Evil’s own ‘sorcery?’ And you say it was a demon…?”
“It was a human, not a demon.”
At that surprising statement, Carpeios’s menacing aura dropped a notch.
“My Chaos Evil, forgive me, but there are no traces that any human intruder came in from outside.”
“Are you certain there weren’t?”
“…Enlighten this ignorant servant, I beg you.”
Reed shared just enough information.
“The Sa-in Flower ‘flowerpot’ wasn’t a dream demon. It was a human disguised as one.”
“…!”
Only then did Carpeios’s greed-numbed judgment come back to him.
