At present, Sungjin’s mind hovered precariously along the boundary between consciousness and unconsciousness.
This sort of change, which often occurred while he slept, was generally a kind of constraint that activated automatically in order to minimize the consumption of Causality.
Occasionally, however, Sungjin deliberately entered this state himself. Once he set foot on the boundary of consciousness, that very ambiguity allowed him to escape the constraints of reality more easily.
Whenever that happened, every unfamiliar thing that entered Sungjin’s sight would transform into something familiar. Things that should ordinarily have been impossible were effortlessly realized, and even the laws of time and space bent freely according to his wishes.
This unfettered state of mind might, perhaps, be considered something akin to dreaming.
Nor was his surrounding environment the only thing that moved fluidly.
At times, even Sungjin’s identity would sway this way and that depending on the circumstances.
Sometimes he was simply a young boy who loved swordsmanship training, and at other times, a seasoned hunter obsessed with beating Fiends to death.
Sometimes he moved as the subject of the dream, while at others he became nothing more than a pure observer, contemplating the world from afar.
In that vague, ambiguous state, Sungjin tirelessly wandered around, watching everything around him.
