A scream rang out. It was a sound that felt like it stabbed my ears. How could there be a cry so desperate and raw.
“Kkeuaaaa—!!!”
“Kkeuuu……!!!!”
It wasn’t only me the sound affected. The soldiers who hadn’t managed to flee clapped their hands over their ears and collapsed when they heard it.
You’d think they were overreacting to mere sound, but this wasn’t just sound.
Calling it “sound” in the first place was strange.
This was a form of energy.
A shape of sound wrought by energy.
Because it resembled a scream, it manifested all the more eerie and terrifying.
And was it only sound?

Though the energy had already been unleashed, the burst of power lingered in place and raged for a long while.
