Human senses unexpectedly tire easily. No matter how much one pretends otherwise, it’s inevitable to get accustomed to repeated stimuli.
For example, the sense of smell is a prime case.
Even a piercing stench becomes hard to notice after a few minutes. Unless one deliberately focuses, one might not even detect the stench’s presence.
While the degree of desensitization varies among the senses, there are no exceptions. Even touch often shows a duller response to repeated stimuli.
Sight is the same.
The Saintess’s beauty was undoubtedly the top across the continent. As if unfailingly proving the nickname ‘the maiden most loved by the Celestial God,’ it suited the expression of a meticulously crafted artwork more than a product of coincidence.
There wasn’t a single time I didn’t admire it whenever I saw her.
Nevertheless, after seeing it several times, one inevitably adapts even to that sacred appearance.
I realized that obvious fact only today.
