The myriad forms that flashed past in an instant soon grew dense like a single vast forest, then became orderly once more and took the shape of a human being.

As though seeking a “realistic” position, the shadow that had stretched out at length settled beneath Gio’s feet, small and dark.

It was a process like drawing a picture, an awkward shape gradually becoming whole. Considering that Gio possessed the qualities of a painter, it was an interesting change.
