That was because Evil Gods actively sought out their corrupted believers.
“Alternatively, they may deliberately plunge a human they favor into misfortune so they can make that person their believer. Some humans receive an Evil God’s love because they are corrupt, while others become corrupted because they are loved.”
If a god watched humanity, there was always some method of calling it. In countless Dungeons formed from destroyed dimensions, knowledgeable people who embraced the wrong desires had often brought disaster upon themselves for precisely that reason.
“The most common purpose is revenge.”

“In rare cases, some people summon an Evil God because they desire nothing but destruction.”

“Pride, greed, envy, wrath, lust, gluttony, and sloth.”
“Good, Sister Iruda. The concept existed even before the Great Cataclysm, when humanity had little direct connection with gods.”

“Earth underwent many changes in perception after the Great Cataclysm. If the concept remains firmly established even now, we may conclude that it demonstrated corresponding value.”
In religious circles, the seven deadly sins were one such concept.
“The proud refuse to learn. The greedy refuse to share. The envious lose opportunities to grow, and the wrathful refuse to endure. Lust easily blinds a person, gluttony makes one forget respect, and sloth allows one’s own worth to decay.”
