A soft song drifted through the temple.

The Sun Church priests looked somewhat displeased.

A hymn was music meant to praise a god and nurture faith. Worse, this place had been revealed as a former Temple of the Sun, yet a bizarre hymn now flowed through it. It was blasphemy itself—insulting the Sun and praising something wicked.

The faint singing echoed throughout the temple. Slight discord made it uncanny, while the gentle melody felt languid as a summer twilight. It resembled an animal’s cry and could not be understood.

It undulated like the call of a whale spreading through seawater.
